Classes - Elaine Marston Fine Art

I deliver most of my classes at Farthinghoe Village Hall, inbetween Banbury and Brackley, Northamptonshire where I share my drawing/painting skills and experience with children and adults.

These consist of ‘Weekly, term time art classes for adults‘ or one off ‘Saturday Day Workshops‘, one off ‘Adult & Child Workshops‘ or ‘Holiday workshops for Children‘

Weekly Adult Classes

My fun and informative adult weekly classes are held on a Tuesday morning (2.5 hours) or Friday morning (2.5 hours) with lots of cups of teas, coffees and biscuits! Weekly classes are booked for half a term (approx 7 weeks depending) As I have been teaching for 20 years with new and existing students, I am flexible in my teaching approach to cater for all abilities from beginners to experienced.

I always bring a project to class to demonstrate for those who would like a more step by step approach whilst also enabling students to work on their own projects that I can offer my assistance with if they would like help. As a very versatile, working professional artist I am able to teach the following mediums – Oils, acrylics, watercolours, inks and soft pastels and am happy to be led by the class which medium they would like to use for that half term of classes.

Materials are generally not included, however if you are new, a beginner or do not have a particular medium I don’t mind you using my materials to start with and ask for a small donation in the pot.

Children’s and Adult and Child Workshops

I offer school holiday workshops for children’s drawing and painting classes, the dates for which can be found on the booking page. I also advertise these workshops on my socoal media pages. I am joined by the amazing, Sue Kayll, who assists me in the children classes, not only is she a brilliant artist but has many years working in schools. We focus on learning good drawing skills as well as experimenting with different mediums. Lots of examples of previous classes’ artwork can be seen on my facebook page ‘Elaine Marston Artist Studio’.

Materials are included in these classes. Please ensure your child wears scruffy clothes or wears a shirt or apron, it is a painting class so we could get messy 😉

Adult and Child Workshops

We also offer a unique experience at my studio where you paint alongside your child, children, grandchildren etc. This is a step by step process where I show you how to draw and paint by demonstrating, whilst my assistant Sue is at hand to assist. Materials are included, please don’t wear your best clothes we might get messy. Details of dates are added to my online booking system below when dates are available. Please book a ticket per person attending ie an adult and children would be 2 tickets.

Saturday Adult Workshops (one off)

I offer Saturday adult workshops approximately occasionally depending upon my availability. New dates are being added all the time onto my online booking system below so keep an eye out. I normally chose a medium or subject matter to focus on, full demonstration is given, often in a step by step approach. Teas/Coffees/Biscuits are free flowing too as well as the paint!

Accessibility

My village hall is based in Farthighoe, it has disabled access, kitchen, toilet facilities, heating and air conditioning. Parking is available on the same premises, if you have any special requirements , please let me know.
